MANWË puppies

Puppies, just like our dogs, share with us a big house and a garden and they are constantly in touch with us, also with their mother and other members of a kennel.

The birth and first three days of their life they spend in the special box, in the calm part of house where they are not disturbed by anybody. They have permanent contact with their mother and they are under the 24hours control.

Later they are moved into the kitchen and dining room, where they have got a big rail adapted to their games and exploring the world. They have an open entrance outside eventually into the whole garden. If the weather is good, puppies will choose to be at home or outside. They learn more better to cleanliness.

At home the puppies are socialized on the wide variety of the home background and noises – kitchen appliances, a cleaner, a radio, a television, a loud interview, a bell at the door...etc. Outside they can meet natural things like a rustling high grass, water, stones and other animals... These things teach them to think independently, how to explore and overcome various natural and artificial obstacles which they will meet in their common life. In the street they will meet with cyclists and cars, on the wood trip they will learn how to behave in the car. In the wood they will recognize new noises and smells. All of this is done separately or in the pack of puppies with support their mother. Therefore they can obtain the necessary certainty.

From the third week is allowed to visit the puppies by persons interested in them or our friends. Due to contacts with people, children or other animals they learn the right formula of behaviour and later they will not have a problem with communication with people and other dogs.

Puppies are learnt to wear a dog collar with lead, therefore after the departure into their new homes they are used to wear it so it is already the common part of their lives and you can take the puppy on a lead without any problems. Show promising puppies are used to wear the an exhibition lead, we are training them daily for the exhibition position and handling so they have got basics for future champions J

All of these things are preparing our/your puppy for the next life and if you are getting on with, the small puppy will grow up into a well-behaved and self-confident dog, which is ready to solve every situation.

All our dogs (also the mother) are fed by a raw food BARF – it means raw meat with vegetable – which is the most natural fresh food without any preservation and artificial vitamins...etc. The mother is getting the Folic Acid and other necessary vitamins for the whole pregnancy period in order to the right support of a foetus development.

Puppies are exclusively breastfed during the 2-3 weeks of their lives, if necessary fed by puppy milk or later goat milk. About the third week we start to give them also scraped raw chicken and beef meat with vegetable. Step by step we add the various types of meat, bones (at the beginning crushed), guts and vegetable. From milk products the puppies get goat milk, home-made yogurt, cottage cheese with yolks, honey and fruit.

I know not all of the new owners are not willing to continue with BARF feeding, puppies are also used to eat the dog’s granulated food called Yoggies ( I recommend you to feed by these granules until the ending of their main body evaluation (18 months).

But I will be happy if you decide for feeding your puppy better, it means by natural food like fresh raw meat and vegetable. I am ready to make a menu for your puppy and also I am ready to help you with feeding. When you see how all of them love meat and eat it excitedly, I suppose that you will never get back to feeding by granules.

Because we are breeding just only the healthy dogs (as mother, as father), our puppies have no any predisposition of illnesses (unfortunately more common) which are known for The Rhodesian Ridgeback breed like articular disease (DKK, DLK, OCD), thyroid disorders, blood-vessel problems (vasculitis) and mainly allergies. We take pride in health as well as on character of our dogs, it means we are never breeding the too aggressive, too timid dog or the dog with untypical character despite of their excellent exterior or show successes. These traits of characters do not belong to breeding and there is no need to pass them on!  The character of this big and extraordinary breed, like Rhodesian Ridgeback, is more important for us than the exterior, of course with the functionality preservation – spacious chest, good top line, good angulation and strong feet.

Our dogs are not dewormed preventively. We use a chemical just in case we find some parasites during the regular excrement examination. Puppies are regularly dewormed till they are 12 weeks old by natural supplements.

In the 7 week of their life, they are immunized by vaccine against Canine distemper and Parvovirus.

Average prices of RR in the Czech Republic are:

-         the standard puppy from the average breed   1000 - 1200 EUR

-         the show quality puppy from the high-quality breed and line – 1000–2500-3000 EUR

-         the pet quality puppy – 600-1000 EUR

The standard puppy is an individual who meet all the breed-standard requirements and it is supposed that will be fated to breeding in adult.

The show quality puppy is a puppy, which meet all the breed-standard requirements and also appears to be suitable for the exhibitions. This kind of puppy has the high breeding value presumptions.

The pet quality puppy (non-standard puppy) - “pet” is an individual who does not meet all the breed-standard requirements and there is a reason no to be fated to breeding in adult. The reasons are for example: the ridge failure – displaced crown, more/less crowns, too short or missing ridge, too much of white colour, bite failure, kinked tail or block on the tail, undescended testicles at the dog.

In our kennel we set the price by agreement according to litter´s and puppy’s quality. The advance payment is 25% of the price. This advance will ensure that the chosen puppy is only yours and it is the guarantee for us that you will not cancel the puppy taking a few days before.
